Yesterday I was at the hairdresser and we got to talking about dogs (is there anything else to talk to a stranger about :)?

She told me such a sad and incredible heartless story!

A friend of hers had a dog. This dog aged, like the rest of us do also. And, in it’s old age she did not want to spend an money on it, this dog was having some health issues.

So, this faithful dog she has had for close to 13 years, what does she do? She actually gives it to a rescue group.

She did not want to spend money on the dog’s health issues, or on putting it down, so she dropped it off at a rescue group.

It’s NOT that she couldn’t afford it, she did noto s want tpend it on the dog.

I mean, how absolutely heartless is this? I try not to think how this poor dog feels. Going from having an owner and a home to a rescue group.

Please everyone, a dog should be for life, that is, for the life of the dog!

I am still learning about my adopted dog, Shorty. This is our first summer together. My other black lab, Sammy, used to love the hose. As soon as the hose came out, he started “attacking” the water.

All my black labs have been male, so I have the hardest time calling my Shorty “She”.

Shorty takes it a step further, she “attacks” the water coming out of the sprinkler. She was soaken wet! O well, she had fun.

My Black Lab Benny, now gone from us, used to inhale his food. I mean, almost literally. As soon as you gave him his food he would just inhale it. I could never believe how fast this guy ate!

Benny always had digestive problems. No matter what food I gave him, the cheapest to the most expensive, nothing would make a differenc. He always had very lose stools. One person suggested I put a ball in his bowl. Well that didn’t work. He was smart, just pick up the ball, and out of the bowl it goes.

He walked into the house

We thought we would have a girl
But he had other plans
When he went running to the car

Uninvited

And took the cat’s toys
Just to show “him” who was boss

Taking care of his “people”
