And took charge

We thought we would have a girl
But he had other plans
When he went running to the car
And jumped in
Uninvited

He walked into the house
And took the cat’s toys
Just to show him who was boss

He walked into the house
And rearranged it
Things were not to liking
On the day
That he came to stay

He walked into the house
And chose his own bed
Not where we said
On the day

He walked into the house, his house
And stayed for the rest of his life
Taking care of his people
And his cat
And we still feel him near

He let us know
That he would still be here
As always
