We would be remiss in not noting that our First Family has a new family member, and the country has its official First Dog. On April 14th, the Obama family welcomed into their home “Bo”, a six-month-old Portuguese Water Dog, named by Sasha and Malia after the iconic American musician, Bo Diddley.

This adorable little four-footer was bred by Art and Martha Stern, established Dallas-area breeders, and was presented to the Obamas by Sen. Ted Kennedy, who had himself adopted Bo after another pet parent decided they could not care for the pup.

Portuguese Water Dogs are prodigious swimmers and have a long history of water work, aiding fisherman in their quest for the grouper grail. They’ve also helped out us two-footers by delivering messages between ships at sea.

With a historical record that stretches back to nearly 3,000 years ago, the Portuguese Water Dog nearly became extinct in the early twentieth century. But thanks to an intrepid group of aficionados in Portugal, the breed has not only made a comeback, but, we expect, will now surely enjoy an upsurge of renewed interest

Pet Home Business
My fellow HPNet Biz Associate sent this notice to her customers. I wish to share it with you.

I can tell you that this company, HealthyPetNet which is 11 years old this month, is a strong, steady company working tirelessly to help pets live longer, healthier and happier lives.

Right now we have over 150,000 customers and less than 4,000 distributors. That tells you that pet parents DO buy our products, for sure!

I am so impressed by all that the company is doing, including the Dr. Jane Foundation which has been able to donate to many different non-profits.

Dear Readers, I think all of us are well aware of the present state of our economy, and for many people this is a VERY hard time. HealthyPetNet is a way of bringing an additional income into your household, and I just wanted to be certain that you were aware of that. I invite you to take a look at HealthyPetNet, not only for your pet’s sake, but possibly to produce an additional income stream in your household, or maybe in a friend’s household.
