Dental hygiene is one of the most important aspects of pet care.
Many guardians go to great lengths to provide the best foods, tasty treats, and fun toys, but forget about their companions’ mouths. Keeping your dog or cat’s teeth and gums healthy will go a long way to preventing not only bad breath, periodontal disease, and an uncomfortable or even painful mouth, but also more serious chronic conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease, heart conditions and joint problems.

The Best Dog Food For Your Precious Companion
Did anyone see the special on TV this week. About the dog food scandal in 2007. Did you see how the big companies pull the wool over our eyes and get us to practically “poison” our dogs and cats”? Did you see how they split up the grains in the ingredients just so that the grains won’t be listed in the top of the list?
- the list of ingredients has to be listed by volume - what it contains the most of to the least of!
- so, if a company uses corn…in order for the corn NOT to be the top listed ingredient, they split it up:
- corn meal
-corn
-corn gluten…this way the “volume” of corn is in three. If they just listed corn, it would be the top ingredient.
Now that’s pretty sneaky, isn’t it? I read on the web that some big companies even have a suit against them because they use “euthanized animals” WOW! It’s a deep and terrible world where we, the consumers, are constantly fooled.
Check out what you get in Dr Jan Bicks Formulated Foods! ( I still think this is the best dog food)
1. Get your bag of food. Look for the Ingredient Statement on the label.
2. Read the first 5 ingredients. They play a significant role in the nutritional make-up of a food.

A sample of our NewsLetter!
Current estimates show that approximately 75% of cats and dogs over the age of three suffer from poor dental health. Oral disease represents the most commonly diagnosed health problem for companion animals. While considered an inconvenience by many pet parents, proper dental care is a necessary component for overall health, as oral disease can lead to internal organ damage.
Pet parents need to be on the lookout for several dental disease warning signs, including …
Tartar build up
Receding, bleeding or swollen gums
Discolored or fractured teeth
Foul breath
Changes in eating habits
Excessive drooling
Sores on the lips or gums
If you note any of these symptoms, it’s imperative that you schedule an appointment with your vet to discuss possible courses of action.
