The second generation of The Illusion Collar? and Leash Set is a new and improved design to assist owners in achieving maximum control during walks, with more ease and convenience.

Putting on the Illusion Dog collar just got easier! With the new clip buckles, you can adjust the collar once to get the proper fit, and you are ready to go. No more having to adjust the collar every time you get your dog ready for a walk. The connecting straps are now permanently sewn in place eliminating the need for adjustment. These two major improvements make going on a walk using the Illusion Collar a snap!

Master the Walk

“By mastering the walk, you have the ability to truly bond with your dog as her pack leader. The walk is the foundation of your relationship.” ? Cesar Millan Cesar has long highlighted the importance of dog owners properly controlling their dogs during walks, but realized they often lacked the necessary tools to do so. He designed The Illusion Collar? and Leash Set to assist owners in achieving maximum control during walks.

The Illusion Dog Collar & Leash Set (Next Generation)

Revolutionary Design Most dog collars rest on the strongest part of a dog’s neck, giving dogs the leverage they need to take full control of the walk, and of you, too. The Illusion Collar is different ? it keeps the slip collar at the top of your dog’s neck so you can more effectively control and correct your dog during walks. The collar is easy to put on and easy to adjust. Just select the right size and get ready to master the walk!

It’s that time of year when the weather is warming up, trees are beginning to burst into life, and people are starting to venture out after the long cold winter days. Spring is on its way, and it’s time to start thinking about getting out and about with your dog. But is your dog ready to get out and about with you?

Does your dog’s behavior make it too difficult to take him anywhere?

Are you worried that your dog will ruin those beautiful spring flowers, will pull too hard on the leash, might bite someone?

I have some tips so you can have a well behaved dog.

Yes, I am talking about your dog. Unless, of course, your dog is a really good obedient dog.

Are you at times tormented, maybe a better word is frustrated, by bad behaviors like jumping, barking or stubborness. Does your precious dog not listen to you?

If you fall into the above group, the you should join the

OK, let’s talk about jumping.

When your dog jumps on you, you probably say, in an elevated voice level,
“Doggie, get DOWN!”
…and of course you will praise your dog when the jumping is over.

And, this could be one of the things your dog is going for.

Your dog probably is thinking: “Awesome, I jump, and after a while, I get attention from you.”

And guess what … the pattern is set!

I went walking with a frined and her dog and I swear, no exaggeration, the she must have told her dog at least 20 times to “Heel”.

It went this way “Rover, Heel”, “Rover, Heel”, “Rover, Heel”, and on and on. You may have experienced it yourserlf.

Here’s just a tatse of what’s revealed in this amazing training system:

* Take advantage of his natural desire to obey you.

* Use your dogs instinct and get fast results.

* How to use treats properly, and not as bribes

* And, with summer around the corner, how to get your dog to behave on the leash

*The best way to truly communicate with your dog

* Housetraining

* Help to control barking

* Chewing and digging problems? There is help.

* Do you want to keep your dog off the furniture forever.

And, much much more!

Basics of Dog Training

It’s essential for Dog parents like you to know certain basic factors that determine your relationship with your Dog and can go a long way in training him effectively.

Before you begin training your Dog, it is absolutely essential that you build a loving bond with him. This is important as it helps you to understand his needs and instincts and also allows your Dog to have complete trust in you.

Know more about Dog care from this free mini course

Let us see how…….

How To Bond With Your Dog

Building a bond with your Dog is the first and the most crucial step involved in training him successfully. As soon as you bring your Dog home, you must first try to develop a caring and loving relationship with him in order to win his trust and confidence.

When Dogs are secure in the knowledge that they belong to the family, they are more likely to respond better to their owners’ training commands. Just like with any relationship, there must be mutual trust and respect between you and your Dog.

Trust takes time to develop and respect comes from defining boundaries and treating any breach of those boundaries with firmness and fairness.

Without enforceable limitations, respect can’t be developed. And when there is no respect, building a bond with your Dog is almost impossible.

4 Golden Rules To Building A Relationship With Your Dog :

Spend quality time together;

Take him out in the world and experience life together;

Establish and promote a level of mutual respect; and

Develop a way of communicating to understand each other’s needs.

Building a bond with your Dog will not only help you manage him better but will also make your Dog calm, quiet and an extremely well-adjusted pet.

Love Your Dog and He Will Love You back

Once you’re succesful in building a bond with your Dog, you can rest assured that training him and teaching him new and clever tricks will be a cakewalk.

Learn how to bond with your Dog with this free mini course.

How Your Dog Learns…

Your Dog’s learning period can be divided into five phases:

The Teaching Phase – This is the phase where you must physically demonstrate to your Dog exactly what you want him to do.

The Practicing Phase – Practice makes Perfect. Once a lesson is learnt, practice with your Dog what you have just taught him.

The Generalizing Phase – Here you must continue practicing with your Dog in different locations and in an environment with a few distractions. You can take your Dog out for a walk, or to a nearby park and command him to practice whatever you’ve taught him.

Practicing the learned lessons in multiple locations and in the presence of small distractions will help him learn and retain lessons better .

The Testing Phase – Once you’re sure that your Dog has achieved almost 90% success….he responds correctly almost every time you give a command, you must start testing his accuracy in newer locations with a lot of distractions.

Example: Take him to the local shopping mall and ask him to obey your command. He may not come up with the correct response the very first time you do this, but you must not lose hope.

The idea is to test your Dog to see how he responds in an environment which is new to him. Set-up a situation where you are in control of the environment and your Dog.

There are only 2 possibilities:

Your Dog succeeds!!! (Trumpets please!)

In case your Dog fails, re-examine the situation. Review and/or change your training. Then try testing again.

Keep on testing until he succeeds. Follow the rule of the 3 Ps – patience, persistence, praise.

Internalizing Phase – Finally, comes the extremely rewarding phase where your Dog does everything he is taught to do even without your commands.

Remember:

Never scold your Dog if he fails. It’s not his fault. You have failed as a trainer!

You must be patient and persistent for your efforts to show rewards.

Appreciate and love your Dog when he does it right! A little encouragement will work wonders for your Dog.

Dog Training is easy when you do it right.

There are two types of muzzles available on the market:

Occlusion: the purpose is to keep the mouth shut.

Basket-type: the purpose is to allow the dog to open her mouth and pant.

The Occlusion-type muzzle is good for short-term reasons, such as trimming nails or brushing out burrs in the fur. The occlusion-type muzzle is NOT meant for long-term wear, as it prevents the dog from panting, which can cause over-heating and lead to heat stroke. Do not purchase this type of muzzle to take your dog outside!

The basket type muzzle can be made of soft nylon, plastic or wire. They allow dogs to open their mouths and pant. The most secure to prevent biting is a wire basket, as a dog that is determined to bite will destroy the soft or plastic muzzle in two seconds. But as the law does not specify of what type of material the muzzle should be, it is recommended to purchase a comfortable muzzle for taking your dog outside.

Here are some tips on how to take measurements for the perfect fit.

How to measure your dog:

Length
– measure your dog from the eyes to the tip of his nose.

Circumference
– measure your dog approximately 1″ below eyes

Note: for circumference measurements only, add

Small dogs add a 1/4″ to 1/2″

Large dogs add a 1/2″ to 1″

To find the perfect muzzle, call or visit different pet stores, and take your dog to try one on at the store. There are also many web sites that sell muzzles. Finding a muzzle that is a good fit and is comfortable for your dog may take some time, but it is important for your dog’s safety.

To train your dog to wear the muzzle:

Attach the muzzle to the dog’s collar and for a few minutes each day, let it hang off her collar for few days. Reward her for wearing the muzzle on her collar.

Next, place a little peanut butter or some soft dog food at the end of the muzzle. Fit the muzzle on her snout to try it out for few minutes. This allows her to access the treat and see the muzzle as a positive experience. Praise her for having her snout in the muzzle.

Repeat the previous step several times a day for a few days.

When she seems comfortable with having her nose inside the muzzle, repeat the process, but fasten the muzzle on her head while she is licking off the treat. Do not forget to praise her!

Remember all dogs are different – some dogs will accept the muzzle more quickly than others. And always make wearing the muzzle a very positive experience for the dog!

Good dogs tolerate muzzles; bad dogs need them. Nothing replaces good training and responsible pet ownership in ensuring a great canine citizen!
