Most States and Provinces now have laws that make sure you will scoop the poop of your pet:
There are laws that prevent your pet from randomly pooping, even peeing on public property, including against buildings. We can’t prevent our pets from peeing, and we can’t scoop pee, but we have to scoop the poop.
Dog poop is one of the leading reasons of E. coli, fecal coliforms, which is a bacterial pollution. Of course one dog or cat will not cause the environment to collapse, but, the total of thousands of dog’s poop will create very serious problems because of contamination of the soil and our water supplies.
I think that all dog owners need to become responsible in picking up poop. How horrible is it to be out for a walk, and step in dog poop.
There are now many “Dog Bag Stations” for scooping the poop in parks, or even at corporate buildings that have big lawns, or park like property. It is worth for them to have these stations. AND, there is no reason not to pick up after your dog when these stations are available. Because, it means there are also “disposal” containers available.
That is the biggest problem I have had in the past, is finding somewhere to dispose the poop.
It is wonderful to own dogs, and it is totally necessary to be responsible dog owners.
There is a company, that is a source of dog poop bags sanitation products. They carry many biodegradable doggie bags products. You should check them out. They serve both the individual person, and also for parks, companies, and those places that have a need for supplying bags to keep their property “clean”.
