I went to visit the vet with my Katie Bear, a golden retriever. Our vet’s office was blessed with a young vet, and this young vet just had an amazing affinity with animals. Even though he is a lover of all animals, his specialty is small animals and birds. He is knows as a rare bird specialist.

I had my Katie Bear with me, we had some serious health issues, and that will be another story, if I can ever write it. But, today, I am writing about a vet, and a lizard!!!

I had my dog in the back room, where the animals are kept, because we did not know if this particular day would be here last day, and that day, she was granted grace.

And as I stood back in that room, waiting for my own vet to look at my dog I watched this young vet with this lizard.

He picked up the lizard, talked to it, gently stroked it, lifted up, looked at it, and proclaimed that the lizard only had gas!!

Now, even in my situation I had to smile…after all…it takes a special vet, in my eyes anyways, to be able to declare that a lizard is only suffering from gas

My Katie Bear that day came home with me. Another day, that was not to be, but, I still am not able to confront that day in my heart, so I will leave it be.

Just wanted to share that lizard story. This vet did amazing emotional work with me when I had to confront my hardest day, and I will forever be grateful to him.

Anyways, I just thought about this lizard story for today. Does anyone else have any vet stories…hopefully not sad ones, I hate to cry too much!
